** SOLD ** When I first looked at this bass, my initial thought was "ugh". I mean this bass was a downright dirty girl and although I was taken aback for a moment by its condition, I could see that she was actually a "diamond in the rough", so I scooped her up and brought her to the 'Elkcave. Now the fight was on- I took her apart and started scrubbin' and wipin' and polishing and cleaning and she immediately responded by bitin' and kickin' and hollerin' and buckin'. Alas, it was her battle to lose because this was certainly not my first rodeo with a dirty bass and when the smoke cleared, she lay in her freshly- scrubbed case and I was victorious in my endeavor (huffing and puffing I might add). This low- end, thunder funk machine is original down to the last screw and as if possessed by demons, has one of the best playing necks and strongest early Stingray tones I've ever encountered. I just knew she would be a great bass after I "laid hands" on her! Now, all that said, it is a black bass and she does have some surface scratches, playwear and a strap reaction mark across the back. The chrome was dull and tarnished, but is shiny and sparkling again and the neck is straight, with low action. But, the head of this collectible coin is the package features the original polishing cloth, an exceptionally rare blonde Musicman Strap with pick- pockets and an early badge- logo case. Clean, original, custom- colored, early Stingrays are and have always been considered "blue chippers" and in case you want to plug this girl into an old SVT rig and seriously annoy the heck out of your neighbors, she'll be glad to oblige that as well.
