Many of you out there in acoustic land can appreciate this guitar for her rich overtones, breathtaking sustain and stunningly good looks. You also can appreciate the time and craftsmanship dedicated to these magnificent works of art from a bygone era. I don't know the exact production number of these limited guitars, but it has to be low. I would venture to say that, in the three years of production, there has to be less than 100 ever made. Why? One reason would be the limited availability of Brazilian Rosewood Gibson had to work with and of course, since the "Great Raid" of '09 at Gibson's factory, no amount of money or influence will get you a guitar made with that endangered wood that is adorned with the Gibson moniker. Long and short, if you want that Brazilian tone unmistakable Gibson pre-war neck, then you only have a select few guitars to choose from. It's that simple really. Less product = more demand, which invariably leads to higher prices. But, here at the 'Elk, we realize that you are watching your money very carefully (as are we) and we also realize that this is the perfect time to get that guitar you've always wanted while prices are lower. I'm not saying that this guitar is cheap, but I am saying that it's the "no brainer" of the year. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself- What are you waiting for?
