1983 was a good year, I think. All I know was that Kiss was on MTV taking their trademark makeup off and Thriller was on ever damn dial. No kidding, you could switch from a Rock station to a Contemporary one and there it was, all Michael Jackson and I think it was even on Country stations, can't never tell (I know, a grammatical mistake- double negatives), but I'm from the South so be easy on me. You know we have seven toes on one foot and our mothers call us "Lucky". All that said, 1983 was a pivotal year for Fender as well. This was the time in the company's history where giants still roamed the corridors at Fender and the time where Leo's vision still remained, like a ghost in the upstairs attic. Fender was still in Fullerton, having not yet made the move to Corona, California. The same toolings were in use and maybe even some of the same craftsmen from back in the day. I know, you thought you were looking at a Tele? Well, this guitar as you can see is a remnant from the "old factory", but as you can also plainly see in exceptionally clean condition. Maybe you are putting a collection of Teles together, you were born in '83 and want one for that reason or just maybe, you want one to play. Whatever the reason, this guitar is suitable for either framing or playing and wait, if you order now, I'll get Ray to throw in a Shamwow free of charge while supplies last. No kidding, this is like getting a 28 year- old toy from the North Pole and it is Christmas, for Pete's sake. Can I say Christmas in this P.C. world or are the police gonna arrest me? Can't never tell, can you (I know, double negative again). So what, I do have seven toes so it's acceptable... |
