There's two things to expressly mention about this guitar, so first off, let's remove the 3/4 description. All vintage Junior collectors know what these guitars are about, so I'll get to what's important. Simply put, the neck is to die for and is one of the best vintage necks I've ever put in my hands. While it's not a baseball bat, it's also not a "slim 60's"- it can only be described as an ample and substantial '58 Neck. It fills up your palm without being too big. Just perfect in our books. The second item to discuss is this P- 90 pickup. Sounds like a scalded dog that can't find no rain. I had Lee plug this guitar straight into a '72 100- watt Super Bass and if it's raw, untamed growl that you're seeking, this is the machine to deliver it. That said, throw a delay and chorus pedal in front and the tone sweetens up rather nicely and the tall one had some fun on a few leads before I snatched it out of his mitts. There are some battle scars on her- that's probably because she's had the luxury of being played over the last 54 years and rightly so. The guitar is just that....right. The original 'gator case is beat and tattered. That's just the truth and there ain't no getting around it. but we thought it should be included with the guitar, but a good idea would be to stash the original case away and get this girl into a cheap, newer Les Paul hardshell case, if only for safety's sake. She's a player's dream and the last time we delivered a single cut Junior to a client, he sat his R8 down and wouldn't pick it up for the rest of the night.
