This KH-2 Vintage is ESP's most excellent reproduction of Kirk's main touring guitar and is nothing less than a brutal Metal machine. The EMG 81 and 60 pickups are aggressive as heck and provide both either a great, low crunch or soaring lead tone. It always struck me as funny when Lee and I met the guys in Metallica how James was friendly and outgoing, but Kirk was just the opposite- small and shy. He saw us walking towards him in the backstage tunnel at Phillips Arena and by the look on his face, he must have thought we were going to eat him or something because he made a dash for the nearest door. As it turned out, that was the room where we had stored our guitars and when we followed him into the room, he looked like a trapped mouse. It was hard not to start laughing, but we did our best to reassure him that we meant no harm. Looking back, I don't think he was convinced! In any event, this guitar hails from a private collection and is in unplayed condition. The case candy, COA and OHSC are all present, so the package is complete and cool.
