When Trevor bought this 25th Anniversary Strat from us at the 2010 Spartanburg show, we warned him that we were going to put him in the 'Elk Nation and bust him up real bad. Just tear the cotton off his behind if you will but, for some reason, when it came time to write this piece, that feeling never came to us. In fact, we asked ourselves the question, "How can we kill this guy when he, from the first time we met him has been nothing but supremely cool to us"? The answer is, we can't and so to push onward, we'll just let it flow and see what comes out. This gentleman, along with his wife, Phyllis Anne owns BLVD Music in Boiling Springs, SC., just outside of Spartanburg. It's a fresh, cool, medium- sized store and exactly the kind of place a musician would want to go if he were tired of the antics of the mega- guitar stores with which we are all so familiar. The vibe is laid- back and the boss is right there to assist in a purchase or answer any questions you might have. Lee and I cannot express enough how important it is to support your local, independent music retailer, lest they all disappear and we're left to the mercies of the big box, tyrannical chain monsters. Trevor runs a great ship and we are both humbled and proud to call him a friend, a fellow musician and an 'Elk. Boys and Girls, they just don't get much better that this cat! |
